On the day before Thanksgiving break, the HHS Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) team provided lunch for nearly 100 students who were nominated by their teachers for consistently displaying positive character traits throughout the year. Pizza and salad were provided for the students thanks to assistance from LaBella's Pizza, Investments in Youth and Park Falafel and Pizza. In addition, the students names were read on the announcements and a letter of recognition was mailed home.
This marks the second year for this positive reinforcement program and, since its inception, there has been a dramatic improvement in student behavior. The Power Luncheon is only a portion of the overall PBIS initiative that is occurring in, not just the high school, but the entire school district. Special thanks to the PBIS team, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Keyser, Mrs. Roehr and Mr. LaCasse for organizing the event.
