The Living Environment 10E class was put to the challenge of constructing an egg protection system to protect eggs from a drop of 6 ft high. The goal of the project was to have students go through the scientific method process in order to solve a problem. Each team of 4 students was required to represent a university of their choice and brainstorm an idea for their egg protector. This became their hypothesis. Then they wrote a grant proposal that must have been approved before they could continue. They designed, built and tested their egg protection systems and wrote a formal lab report. Finally, they demonstrated their product to the class and many groups even chose to test their product further by dropping the eggs from heights above 6 ft.
